SABCA Advice Leads to Project Growth

We were pleased to hear from SABCA member Corrinne Curtis who obtained advice from SABCA at the early stages of her project. Through hard work and determination Corrinne has achieved overwhelming success for The Nornen Project and we would like to share here comments sent to us:

We spoke a couple of years ago about an idea I had for a play with an attached community engagement programme in Burnham-on-Sea and it’s somewhat rocketed since!

We managed to raise the funds for the delivery of the whole first phase, which included 2 weeks of development rehearsals and a host community workshops etc. They went down really well and we had some fantastic feedback. Off the back of this success, we formed a CIC, were awarded National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England funding, as well as other grants, and are mounting the full production this summer. Hurrah! We have a whole programme of community activities in place again, a community cast supporting the professional actors, and a whole contingent of Norwegian seafarers coming over for the show!

I’ve attached the poster for the show for you. It’s 3rd to 6th August this year. Thank you again for your support and advice in the early stages, it certainly made a difference.
