MUSIC FOR MINATURESLive classical music for children

Music for Miniatures provides opportunities for children and their families to experience high quality live music. We give regular family concerts across B&NES, Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire, and visit schools to inspire, educate, excite and connect children with live music.

Although predominantly classical, we showcase a wide range of music – folk, world, classical, jazz, and we have featured orchestral instruments, choirs and instruments from around the world.

Our vision is to bring high quality live music to every child aged 0-11, regardless of background. Our mission is to transform communities, schools and families with the shared experience of musical excellence through live performance.

We deliver our work through two main strands; 1. Music for Miniatures – concerts aimed at the 0 – 4 age group and their families. Averaging audiences of 40-70 families at each performance we deliver a wide range of classical, folk, jazz and world music, and featuring orchestral instruments, choirs and ethnic instruments from around the world. These concerts are always short, engaging and inspiring for very young children. Using only high quality professional musicians ensures that both children and adults experience a memorable musical event that will have lasting impact.

2. Crescendo Concerts and Theatrical Chamber Music – professional touring shows aimed at the 5 – 11 age group, their families and schools. Crescendo has given over 100 interactive performances, both in schools and in the community. Our schools performances are highly rated by teachers for their content and we introduce children to a diverse range of instruments. Our Theatrical Chamber Music touring shows include an original production of The Story of the Nutcracker in 2019 & 2021 (received 5* reviews), Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes 2016-2019 (also 5* reviews) and A Christmas Celebration in 2017 and 2018 which delighted audiences with yet more stunning reviews.

We tour to pretty much anywhere and are always keen to forge new partnerships so get in touch!
