LIZ HOODContemporary artist. Enigmatic figurative oil paintings.

Liz Hood is a contemporary artist and painter, working almost exclusively in oils. She originally graduated from the National College of Art & Design in Dublin and then worked in design for many years. When she turned to oil painting, it was to satisfy a more personal creative urge, and her work now features in private collections in Canada, China, mainland Europe, Ireland, the UK and the USA.

Liz’s work explores what it is to be human in the world through everyday experiences and her own memories. She enjoys the interplay between abstraction and figuration on the 2-dimensional surface, using the physicality of the paint and the properties of colour to create mood and effect.

A studio visit can be arranged by prior appointment only. Liz’s work can also be previewed on her website or on Instagram
