CAFE WRITEA free accessible writers' group for writer's of all abilities and stages
Café Write was formed many years ago by the budding writers of Minehead, Somerset. Over the years the group has grown and evolved and has a strong membership. We meet once a month at the Kildare Lodge in Minehead and encourage writers of all mediums to read or present a maximum of 700 words to the group. Either of their own works or written to a set prompt the month before.
We’ve a good mix of poets, haiukists, play/screen writers, novelists (from fiction for young children through to adult) and non-fiction writers. Joining Café Write is free, as is access to this website, we do encourage all writers to engage with us in person and attend as many of the meetings as they can.

Yes, we work closely with the Minehead Literary Festival, most of us meet regularly for lunch or go to events (such as performances and talks) as a group, and we have a social in the summer and at Christmas!
